Alice and Trixie at Birmingham Fashion Week 2016 –
New York Fashion Week is only a couple of weeks away but I want to share a fashion show by a brand I love and saw here in my own backyard. Alice and Trixie honored us with an amazing runway show at Birmingham Fashion Week and I am finally getting around to sharing the images of my favorite pieces, most of which are still available for sale on the Alice and Trixie website. Like my jumpsuit for example. It’s the Alice and Trixie 100% silk Tina Jumpsuit and it’s on major sale! Keep reading to see some beautiful pieces and to learn more about this fun and colorful line!
Alice and Trixie is about to become one of your new favorite brands. Founder and designer Angela Taylor George started it 20 years ago after developing a love for fashion at only 10 years old. She has an eye and appreciation for color, pattern and shapes. And she designs all but a few special pieces in luxury silk. Before we get into the fashion show I wanted you to see a video I found about how an Alice and Trixie collection comes to be. Then right below that is a video of the show itself that includes some exciting behind the scenes clips.
I wore Alice and Trixie to the show and I am just obsessed with this zebra print jumpsuit. Plus, it’s on sale for $160, a steal considering the original price was $400! Because of the safari like print I added brown and black accessories and even though owls aren’t widely known for living near zebra’s they in fact do! Thank goodness for Google! So my beloved Luana Italy Owl handbag was the perfect choice. Because I picked up the jumpsuit the same day of the show I had no time to have it tailored so I added my highest shoes, a pair of wooden platforms and a Topshop studded, wrap belt. My Ettika choker added the perfect finishing touch. I was looking like an Alice and Trixie girl and ready for the show! Now onto the beautiful pieces starting with the dress above. Isn’t it is so gorgeous! It’s called the Dawn Maxi Dress in the Mayan Medley print. There is also a shorter version called the Ashley for sale here. Really love this design!
The dress above is called the Camilla and I just love the cut-out shoulder detail. And below is the Landon Dress which has the coolest design the back.
The Cynthia Dress is definitely one of my favorites! The color white makes this an obviously different piece than you may be used to seeing in a sea of color and prints. I also love the shape and the 3D flowers are just gorgeous! Below is the Michelle Top, another piece from this collection I am obsessed with. I mean, those sleeves? Incredible!
The Beverly Top (above) is a pretty chambray color and so cute. Pictured below is another gorgeous piece in white called the Chyna Dress. It’s shift silhouette, scoop back and fringe detail make this the perfect piece for almost any occasion.
These two outfits were my absolute favorite. Unfortunately I (or should I say Chandler) didn’t get a good shot of the first one (above) and I can’t seem to find these awesome pants or this amazing jumpsuit (below) anywhere on the site. Sold out perhaps? If anyone knows where I can find these either of these pieces please let me know! The blouse is available though! It’s called the Angel Top and like just about everything by Alice and Trixie it’s made of 100% luxury silk.
Above the piece on the right is called the Memphis Jumpsuit and the front has a ruffle detail and the tapered leg means it’s perfect for those of us who aren’t super tall. The pink romper is also super cute but again I can’t seem to find it. 🙁 Below is another dress that must be sold out but good news! If you like this print which is called the Figi Floral there is an amazing off-the-shoulder maxi called the Chantal available here.
Above is the beautiful Leslie Top which has a strappy back and sequins which really dresses up the Archer Pants. I really like that these can be dressed up or down and they have a fun side split. Below is another of my many favorites, the Chantal Maxi in the Egyptian Geo print. I mean, this dress is everything! I am obsessed with the off-the-shoulder style, the slits and the amazing sleeves. I am dying to get my hands on this one.
Here are a few photos of the final walk but I wanted to point out this awesome Mavrick Jumpsuit above. Like all Alice and Trixie prints this one is super cool and boho and I love that it’s fitted up top with wide legs and pockets. The one that is two photos down is called the Leighton Jumpsuit. Aren’t the colors gorgeous? All of these pieces are perfect if you are headed somewhere warm plus Spring is only a few months away and this brand definitely takes your wardrobe up a notch! Which of these gorgeous pieces is your favorite?
Wearing an Alice and Trixie jumpsuit with a Topshop belt (similar), Mossimo platforms (similar), an Ettika choker, Daniel Wellington watch and Luana Italy handbag still available at Dillard’s. Obsessed with this bag! You may have seen it in last year here. It’s sold out in black on the Luana Italy site but you can get the white which is 15% off with code “TOHELLINAHANDBAG”.
