An Everyday Look with the Clinique Chubby Doodle –
With the weekend already over and Monday looming before us I thought it would be a good time for an everyday makeup tutorial. Today I am partnering with one of my favorite cosmetic brands, one I’ve blogged about multiple times (see this post and this one), Clinique to introduce you to their brand new In The Nude™ Chubby Foundation Stick and their fun technique, the Chubby Doodle.
By using the Chubby Doodle technique you are able to play and have fun with your makeup, not take it too seriously. On Clinique’s site ‘The Wink‘ they have a few fun doodles to start you off but you can get really creative and come up with your own. Every single piece of makeup used here is from the Chubby line which I love. Super easy storage, crayon application and it’s no fuss, just use your fingers to blend. The chubby foundation stick is the line’s newest addition and it’s creamy, crayon formula blends easily and is build-able, so whether you like sheer or full-face foundation coverage you will love this product. The Chubby Doodle I went with is called Flower Power for full-coverage. I am not an artist and luckily you don’t have to be. On moisturized skin, take your foundation stick and doodle the effect you are after. Then using your fingers blend, blend, blend. The shades I am using in this post are all listed within and at the bottom.
Pictured above are three of the four available Clinique Chubby Stick™ Cheek Colour Balm shades. After applying foundation I usually apply some translucent powder but with the Chubby Stick I find that step unnecessary so I move on to my blush and lip color. I always save my eyes for the end even though makeup artists always start there. For me it’s just a habit and maybe one I should try to break. Anyway, for my everyday look I like to use shades that aren’t too bright or dark, more natural colors. So below I am applying my Chubby Stick™ Moisturizing Lip Colour Balm in Richer Raisin, which is a sheer brownish color with the perfect amount of tint for everyday wear.
Then I apply my creamy blush crayon in Amp’d Up Apple onto the apples of my cheeks and blend. I really love this shade which is described as tawny and looks great on light to medium skin tones.
As I mentioned before, I do my eye makeup last. I used two different shades of Clinique Chubby Stick™ Shadow Tint for eyes. The darker called Ample Amber which is like a bronze went on my eyelids. The lighter shade, Grandest Gold is very light, shimmery and perfect for highlighting so I used it on my brow bones and in the corners of my eyes. This eye crayon would be perfect for the strobing trend that is popular right now as well though Clinique has also recently added both highlighting and contouring Chubby Sticks to the range as well and they are chunkier like the foundation stick. Lastly, for this look I applied the Clinique Chubby Lash™ Fattening Mascara which is one of the best for volume. And I’m done! I take my headband off, shake out my ponytail and I am good to get on with my day. What does your weekly makeup routine look like? I’d love to hear some new ideas so let me know in the comments! Also don’t forget to check out the brand new Clinique In The Nude™ Foundation Stick, I know you will love it!
