Red, White and Blue for Independence Day –
So the 4th of July is next Monday, what are your plans? I don’t have anything solid on the calendar yet except for obviously watching the fireworks. I always like to wear the colors of this fun Holiday but without actually looking like the American flag. If you have ever needed an idea on how to wear red, white and blue for Independence Day without looking too “stars and stripe-y”, well, here’s one!
For this red, white and blue Independence Day inspired look I decided to go with stripes as they are a classic print, more so than stars anyway. I really love this striped jumpsuit in navy which is one of the best classic colors of all time. The culotte jumpsuit is not too fitted but not too loose especially for your bottom half which is nice when it’s 100 degrees outside. For more navy and white in this outfit I decided to wear a patterned bandana around my neck. This is definitely one of my new favorite trends!
I added a blue jean denim jacket as more of an accessory since it will most likely be too hot to actually wear. But in the rare chance it gets cool enough at night then I have something to throw over my outfit. For the Independence Day white color, besides the stripes in the jumpsuit I also added a white straw fedora by Brooklyn Hat Co. They make very cool hats and you may remember them from this post. Now the only red I added to this outfit is in this Zara handbag. This bag is so cool because of the option to carry it by the round metal handle or the long leather strap. Lastly, because I think of leopard prints as a neutral, I am wearing a pair of leopard print Sam Edelman wedges for some height, plus they are easier to walk in than heels.
In this post I am wearing a navy blue and white striped jumpsuit by 1. State with a Brooklyn Hat Co. white straw fedora. My blue jean jacket is by Levi’s (which it’s actually too hot to wear) and the navy blue and white bandana is from Forever 21. I am carrying a red leather Zara handbag (sold out), and wearing my beloved Daniel Wellington watch. Lastly, on my feet I’m wearing a pair of leopard print Sam Edelman wedges that I have had forever!
So what do you think? Do you have a favorite red, white and blue outfit for Independence Day planned? Let me know in the comments!
