At the end of each year, many people make resolutions so that they can enter the new year and create a new and improved version of themselves. If you’re looking to change yourself for the better in the new year, we might just have the right suggestions for you! Two of the most
popular resolutions are quitting smoking and losing weight, so we’re not going to mention those in this compilation. Instead, we’ve come up with some interesting and thought provoking
resolutions to consider going through with in 2019.
Say yes more often
One thing that many of us do in this day and age, is stick to the sensible and comfortable side of things. For example, being asked to travel somewhere exotic or unusual with a group of people you never imagined doing it with might just put you off. However, learning to say yes more often will open doors to new experiences and on the whole, create a new version of you that we think you’ll love. It doesn’t necessarily have to be large gestures to say yes to either, even smaller things like a drink after work with your bestie will help you live your life to the full!
Dial back on the alcohol
Speaking of alcohol, do you know how much you consume in a week? Many people are surprised to hear that they consume up to three times the recommended amount each week!
While it’s absolutely fine to enjoy a drink every now and then, it’s all too easy to fall into the trap of bingeing or daily drinking. You should cut back or quit drinking alcohol and realise these 9
health benefits that you may not have known about before. Cutting out or down on your alcohol consumption can improve many things such as your skin, weight, and even your mood.
Do something selfless
We are lucky enough to live in a world full of vast opportunities and amazing reasons to live. However, not everyone sees the world the way you might, and there are millions of people who
struggle each and every day to simply get out of bed and carry on. Doing something selfless brings on an incredible feeling of empowerment, and can really help open your eyes to some of the suffering that many people go through. Perhaps you could volunteer at a women’s refuge, or
even donate your time to spend with people who don’t have family or friends. Trust us, it will change your life more than you think it will!
Aim higher in your career
Finally, while money doesn’t make the world go around, it certainly helps. With the way the economy is in this day and age, it’s no wonder that so many of us are struggling to make ends meet. Aiming higher in your career will push you further up the ladder in your industry and eventually land you a higher paycheck; meaning you’ll be better off and happier in the long run!
